Thinking About Visiting?
We'll be glad to see you. Here are answers to some questions you might have before visiting.
What is a Lutheran?
First and foremost, Lutherans are Christians. We profess that Jesus is God's son, that he came down from heaven and he lived among us, that he was crucified for our sins and rose again, and that we have salvation through him. You can read more about our beliefs in What We Believe (under About Us).
Where is Bethany?
We're easy to find, near the center of Bainbridge Island at the corner of High School Road and Sportsman Club Road. Click here for directions from wherever you are, courtesy of Google Maps.

When are your worship services?
We worship at two times on Sunday mornings. The 8:30 worship service follows a traditional liturgical format of Word and Sacrament. The 10:00 worship service speaks to children and families through song, prayer, and scripture. Children are dismissed to Sunday school following the children's message, about 15 minutes into the service.
When you come, our ushers will provide you with a bulletin, which contains the order of service. If things get a little confusing, just ask the person next to you for help. You are also invited to fellowship with coffee on Sunday mornings.
Should I bring my children to worship?
Do you have a nursery?
We encourage you to bring your children to worship so they, too, can praise the Lord, offer their prayers, and learn Christian traditions. To help them and you make it through worship, "busy bags" are available near the entrance to the sanctuary with books, paper, and crayons. Just return the bags on your way out.
We also understand that sometimes it just doesn't work to have your children in worship with you, and so we have nursery care available during each worship service for small children. The nursery is located downstairs in the main building.
What about education?
You'll find a variety of Christian education opportunities for all ages throughout the year. On Sunday mornings during the school year, Sunday school is available for youth from preschool through sixth grade during the 10:00 wprship service. Children are dismissed from worship to classrooms following the children's message, about 15 minutes into the service. Visiting children are always welcome. Adult education is available Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and during the week. Find more information in the Education section of this web site (under Spiritual Growth).
How should I dress?
Some like to put on their Sunday best, while others go casual. You should come however you are most comfortable or your piety leads you. We'll just be glad to see you.
